Lisa, This is for You

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a loving couple in possession of a good cat must be in want of a blog. For I am confident that this new creature, which has stirred up such love in our hearts, will do so in yours as well. So, without further ado, let me introduce Maggie, our 5-month-old brown-and-black tabby cat, which we adopted Friday in Brenham, Texas, not far from the famous Blue Bell factory. We have been told that Maggie was a stray kitten, brought in to the shelter, where she learned among other things, that humans make the best beds ever. They put her in our arms, and a few purrs later she was ours - the newest addition to the Jennings family. Besides being the cutest squirrel-colored cat ever, she has exceeded our expectations in both her love of playing and her insatiable desire to lay upon us. Her favorite toy is a little felt ball with feathers sticking out of it - and like a true hunter, she likes to mount her attack from inside the recliner! When she is tuckered out from a long 10 minutes of playing, she jumps up on our laps for a good kitten nap. Initially it was a bit of contention seeing who she would choose to nap on, but as we found out, if we sit close enough, she will sprawl over us both - proving that she is an equal-opportunity snuggler! When she gets in a curious mood, no place, high or low, is sacred. Maggie has no fear, especially of heights, so I have had to re-decorate my mantle to prevent her from leaping upon it! I could go on and on (I know you're already hooked) but I have a play date to get to.

Nice picture of the cat hard at work blogging. I'll have to live vicariously through this blog, since I've been forbidden by the girlfriend to get a cat myself. Hope you avoid the furballs!

Wow is all I can say! I am honored that my name made the first entry! I will most definitely add "Read Maggie's blog" to my daily "to do" list! I hope & pray that you won't spare us any details of your precious furry friend's adventures! I anxiously await all of the reports about Maggie's "firsts", her playgroup friends, her favorite flavor of cat food, what she'll be for Halloween, etc!

I have been worried about being a "stay at home" mom & not having anything to do, but now I can join the wonderful world of blog stalking....only Maggie's that is! :)

I love Maggie's blog! I hope you update it often. So well written and so entertaining! Of course, you do know that Harley (if his owner was not technologically challenged) would have a blog site that would put all others to shame. He is the Hog Man!

oh I'm definitely "hooked". I can't wait to read the next chapter (oops...blog entry - is that what you call them?) in the adventures of "Maggie the Wonder Cat". Congratulations Jennings! I know you needed something to help fill your boring days..and nights!

When am I going to meet this new member of the family? I use to get to come visit. Will I still be welcome? You and Julie can come any time. If you want to bring Blake that is OK. I'll show you the playground across the street and the big tree. Catnip will be provided. Uncle Buster

People are too funny! I am not sure I've ever seen a cat so well received. However, it seems that this one has already won the hearts and affection of many. I will add myself to that list! Please keep the posts coming. And welcome to College Station, Maggie!! Thanks and Gig 'Em.

Seriously, there is a cat who lives in our backyard that would LOVE to play with Maggie. Bring her over and we can watch them frolick together.
